Day #5
Today is Saturday and there was a little interference with playing today. Granny had a meeting at 10 and Preston stayed with the children. We all went to lunch at Fire House Restaurant and the boys all got a half rack of ribs as Granny had promised. From the three boys, there were two ribs left. Our friends were amazed and the boys behavior would have made you proud. We went swimming for a couple of hours and I did get a couple of photos this time.
The news/weather station was so much fun. Mason especially like the weather part and put all sorts of weather symbols and temperatures on the map. He knew where Florida, Tennessee and Texas were on the map. After the others went on to the next area, I found Mason still placing things on the map and talking about the weather. He said, "Tornadoes are really bad". I got some of it on video. Maybe I can post it with some help from Preston later this morning.
Friday, GC 2008 #4
Well, its Saturday morning and for some reason the blog connection worked this morning!!
So a report for Friday...
It was a bit cloudy and cool but a warm day was predicted. We decided to go to Hands On Museum until the clouds moved away. This was a really cool crane in a special traveling exhibit that could be moved by the wheels in several different directions. As you can see they all like this, (note all 4), I even spent some time playing with it as were some other grandparents.
Liz made this really cool arch with the help of a couple of taller people.
Above is the display with water and levis and dams. (Can't get it to move)
Maybe I better post this before it blows up again.

In Karate there is a word by the door which they are to say followed by sir. This week it is leadership. I told the boys this morning that I think we should have a GC word for the day and that I thought the first one should be kindness. Sam thought that it was a good idea but John being the 8 year old thought that it was dorky. We'll give it a shot and see what happens. We talked about how important it is for a gentleman to be kind and that we make choices about the kind of people that we are all of our lives and that they can make decisions now about who they are.

GC '08 Day #3
We awakened early to get Aunt Val and Cousin Carson to the airport for a 10:00 AM flight. We then had to do some house stuff with Granny. We went by the lake house but got the big wheels out of the garage and had fun riding them for awhile. Then we went by our friend Jack's Shamrock and got hot dogs. Mason a grilled cheese. John and Sam agreed that they knew why they were JC's best. Then we had to go to the appliance place and the three boys sat at the counter and watched the movie on the iPhone. Great thing to have on hand. They couldn't have been better. Picked out the kitchen appliances then went by the Preston slab place and asked about soap stone. They are going to get back to me. But, they couldn't have been any better. Went to Karate at 2:00, got a TCBY, and then went to the playground with bikes and balls etc. Liz played flag football with the boys for awhile. We are going to order Chinese and watch a movie tonight. All things together was another good day.

Day #2
Hey Parents and friends,
We are settling in to being together full time. The boys are having a ball. This morning we picked up Granddaddy and went to the Gray Fossil Site. Granddaddy loved it as much or more than the kids. But, best of all was the traveling exhibit, "The Scoop on the Poop". Somebody knows about boys 6 to 8 and hit it right on the button. I couldn't get them out of there.
No blood or tears today, well a couple of times and Mason wailed when John hit him in the eye. But, Mason checked and his eye was still there.
Hope that you can plan to be here on Saturday for the orange belt testing at the end of next week. Its a big deal.
Today was a rainy day but we made the best of it.
Can't seem to do the photo thing, I will try tomorrow.

The Offical First Day
Today, we all woke up very early and goofed around the house for a while. We met Nana and Betty for lunch at the Red Lobster (Sam was right! Some man did leave a message that we should have lunch at Red Lobster!). After that, we went to Target and bought a ton of toys. We won't say how much Granny spent, but we ought to be really nice to her now (ahem). Then we went to our first Tai Kwon Do class. Our teacher is hilarious. He made the class really fun. Here are some pictures from the class:

Aunt Val didn't act quickly enough to get a picture of Mason breaking the board, but she will tomorrow.
After Tai Kwon Do, we went back to Granny's house to play with our new toys. We had the most fun on the slip n' slide (Granny's camera pooped out before we could get shots of that hilariousness) and the Fun Roller (Aunt Val's still got some moves for an old gal...and a sore neck).
